23 Dias Hasta Ecuador

An e-mail from the Study Abroad Office with my host family info has finally gotten me to make my first post instead of messing around with the background designs.  It's getting close to departure date, but I haven't been able to really think about living in Ecuador for a semester without getting completely distracted from finals.  I still have two more finals to go, but this post is going to take priority for a little bit.

I will be studying abroad at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ) en Ecuador for the Spring Semester.  I leave on January 3rd and I'm scheduled to return on May 15th.  I just found out that I will be living in Lumbisi, a native community near Cumbaya (where USFQ is located).  My host family consists of Rosa and Freddy with their three children.  They have two older sons in high school and a little girl in preschool.  Rosa works from home and as a part time housemaid.  Freddy is an elementary school teacher.  According to the e-mail, USFQ is about a 15 minute bus ride away.  I feel like I can actually begin to picture my life next semester!

Here's a link to the USFQ website: http://www.usfq.edu.ec/Paginas/Default.aspx
Take the virtual tour right at the top of the page!

Everything is coming together, I have my host family information, plane tickets, visa, immunizations, registered for classes and my blog set-up.  Of course there's still a lot to do, but all of the major things feel like they have been taken care of.

I will leave it at that for now.  For those preparing to take finals, good luck!  Break is almost here :)
